Recognized as a market leader in the industry with one of the largest international parcel networks in the world, the company covers about 40 countries through its subsidiaries and network partners, including Portugal.

With modern IT solutions and a consolidated international network, our client is one of the country’s leading parcel services. Thanks to its extensive logistics network of over 50 branches and 600 Parcel Shops located in strategic points throughout the country (including the islands), the company offers a standard delivery time of between 24 and 72 hours to more than 1,600 customers.

The Challenge

The success of our client is intrinsically connected with its focus on quality. Striving to satisfy its customers’ needs with high-quality parcel and logistics services, the company seeks to continuously improve its network, technology, and security. That is where PrimeIT enters the picture.

Why a partnership with us? Our client faced a need to develop its in-house platforms to improve its operational services, namely monitoring, tracking, worldwide parcel distribution, and storage systems.

These platforms are responsible for managing everything from the moment the user places an order until the product is successfully delivered. In order to improve them, they required a Java Developer expert to strengthen their team. As a result, they reached out to PrimeIT for solutions.

Our Solution

PrimeIT quickly analysed and arranged solutions to the needs of the client and their project and began working together in October 2023. The company required our Team Extension services, a solution that allows us to reinforce internal teams with the best technological consultants, offering high flexibility and scalability.

At the moment, we have one consultant involved in the ongoing project. However, the client intends to increase its team next year, so we have a prospect of having more consultants working on the team.

For the development of this project, we have mainly used Java, Spring and AWS technologies. Our consultant is directly involved in the general development of features and improvements to the order creation processes, as well as the printing of parcel despatch labels.

The Impact

The work carried out has reaped clear benefits, significantly impacting the logistics company’s operations. Since the beginning of the project, PrimeIT has been receiving positive feedback from the client regarding the work carried out by the team. So far, we have been able to facilitate the use and development of the company’s internal logistics platforms, such as scanning platforms, mapping journeys, and order and warehouse records.
